Five sanding techniques — machine and hand sanding — are used on each door to insure the smoothest surfaces on which to apply our stains. Hand-rubbed stains produce the rich deep shades of color that enhance the natural beauty of all our wood species. A precatalyzed sealer coat locks in these stains which are then topped off with a post catalyzed varnish creating a durable finish resistant to heat, UV rays, and most household chemicals.
These applications offer a wide array of colors and shading that will heighten the appearance of any door style using the multi-step finishing process along with additional colors and wiping techniques.
Tri-Star's innovative leather finishes are applied much like our standard stains and finishes, but have an additional denubbing (super fine sanding) step and a "crackle layer" application which gives the appearance of aged leather.
Cow-tailing, weathering, worn holes, dents, razor cuts, joint cracks and splattering are special processes offered to create an antique worn look to the cabinetry.
